Mr. Ariel HaasResearch Science, Physiology
Ariel Haas leads the award-winning research class QUEST. This camp serves as a stepping stone for students to conduct their own research and ultimately excell in programs like the Research Methods course at CCA. Mr. Ariel Haas has helped to design a meaningful camp in order for your student to be prepared for future biology, environmental science or research endeavors. |
Dr. Ed GerstinAdvanced Biology
Dr. Ed Gerstin is a faculty member at CCA who teaches biology courses like AP Biology and CP Biology. The curriculum for the camp is designed in order to best prepare students for high school when they will be taking higher-level biology courses. The integrated practice and learning in the camp curriculum will surely make STEM courses less daunting. |
Our Team
The CCA San Diego iGEM team is consisted of members who have worked with labs around San Diego County and have been awarded for their individual research, along with research for the iGEM competition. Last year, at the international iGEM competition in Boston, MA, we were awarded the bronze medal for our research in which we developed an innovative, sustainable method to use genetically modified bacteria to clean up oil spills and also harvest energy in the process. All proceeds from the camp will go towards funding our iGEM research.
